The board meeting began at 5:30 pm via Zoom.
Present: Keith Sobraske, Cathy Sherry, Dave Blobaum, Shellee Snoke, Carey Johnson, Curt Hansen, Winston Vineyard, Andrew Song, Terri Wicker, Tom McPhee, Chris Wurpts.
- Board Packet was discussed and approved.
Financial Updates
- Giving continues to trend well, and expenses are in check.
- The 2021 Employee Retention Credit has been received and deposited.
- Money not needed for current expenses will be moved from the checking account to the Fidelity account to earn more interest.
Union Update
- Still awaiting the invoice from the attorney. This is a shared expense with Ascension Lutheran Church.
- The United Methodist Conference has approved the Union. Approval from the Lutheran Synod is expected next week.
- The Nominations Team will begin interviewing to fill positions for a Pastoral Transition Team and the Foundation Boards.
Job Descriptions
- Staff job descriptions have mostly been completed and sent to Pastor Chris for review.
- A vote to approve Erin Thompson being hired as a Cantor on a 6-month contract to provide stability and coverage for the choir through the summer months was approved.
Worship and Discipleship Programming
- The after-church class on Exodus was well received, with anywhere from 25 to 45 people in attendance. A new series, “Genesis”, will be starting March 22.
Conference Health Insurance
- Beginning January 1, 2027, there will be a 20% increase in the Health Insurance cost that is offered to the full-time staff.
