YOUTH MINISTRY

Who we are

NSUMC Students Grades 6-12
North Scottsdale United Methodist Church
Youth Director: Mia Cox
Contact: youth@nsumc.com
Mobile: 253-221-2701

We are part of the Desert Southwest Conference of the United Methodist Church.
We collaborate often with other area UMC Youth Groups, for special projects, camp and events!

What we’re about:

* Providing; Sunday school, Youth Activities/events, including twice weekly “Youth Group” for movies, games, food etc.
* Kids come to have fun and learn how they belong in the Kingdom of God.
* Students will learn to represent Jesus by how they love others and themselves.
* Our goal is to provide a safe place for them to be their authentic selves where they are wholly accepted & loved.
* They will learn to identify their gifts and strengths, and how to use them for Gods Kingdom here on earth.
* They will make new friends, and have caring adult mentors to listen, guide and encourage them.

He has shown thee O man
What is good, and what the Lord
Requires from you,
but to do justly,
Love Mercy &

walk humbly with God.

The 3 Pillars of our Youth Program:

Social: Fostering Relationships with one another. It’s important for teenagers to feel they belong, have friends, and have fun.

Service/Social Justice: There is no “Mini-version of the Holy Spirit”. It’s important for teens to know they have gifts/talents as well as responsibilities to their community and to the planet which God has entrusted us. Representing Jesus to their world & to their own sphere of influence.

Church Family: Collaboration and Care in acts of service & volunteering within the church, is one way youth can be connected to the church body. There are a lot of ministries that can use their support & gifts, and bridge the future connection from student to adult attendee & participant.

Safety Policies:

As a member of the Desert Southwest Conference all of our volunteers have background checks performed and are asked
to sign a statement with their understanding of our safety policies.
A copy of which is linked here below.
Please note:
We may not always be able to give your child a ride to/from events, as we are to have 2 unrelated adults in the vehicle with students.
If you are interested in being a driver/rider to help us provide transportation,
so no child is left out, please reach out to Mia Cox.

As a parent, if you are willing and able to carpool with other parents, we ask that you make those arrangements directly with other families.
