Every summer during NSUMC’s Summer Day Camp, camper families are encouraged to help us help other children. This year the request is a donation of $25 toward a Walmart Gift card for the PIMA TRADITIONAL SCHOOL community aide office. These gift cards will support children and families by helping them afford school supplies, clothing and the bare necessities to make their school life more comfortable. Pima Traditional School is a Title One school in south Scottsdale.
North Scottsdale United Methodist Church invites children to “FOOD TRUCK PARTY Day Camp.” This camp adventure will be held Monday, June 13 through Friday, June 17, 9:00 a.m. until 11:30AM at NSUMC. It is open to all children ages three through twelve. Because of the generous donations from our NSUMC members, this year our VBS/DAY CAMP is now FREE for the full week program.
Food Truck Party Day Camp teaches us that everything we have comes from God! It’s by turning to God at our meal time prayer, we can find grace, compassion and support on our daily journey. This day camp offers energizing dance videos, interactive bible puppetry, super science experiments, creative crafts, and active games that are out-of-this-world! The entire church family is invited to an All-Church youth leader appreciation BBQ on Saturday, June 4th.
We are saying thank you to Morgan, Alex and Kylie who have been awesomely committed to your students this year! Sundays, Wednesdays and Special event and even Winter camp, they have been so consistent and faithful. They have even gone out of their way in their personal time to attend, students, games/meets, recitals and performances, or taken them to coffee etc. We are so fortunate to have such dedicated leaders who are volunteering their time. Your entire family is invited to please join us on June 4th @ 6PM at the youth house, to say thank you. Sign up here! Pastor Rennick is starting a weekly series called "Tuesdays at 10", an online check-in open for members of the congregation to visit with Pastor David for about fifteen minutes to hear a summary from Sunday's message, announcements, a prayer, and good conversation. The series will run every Tuesday at 10am from June 7th through August 30th.
Please contact the office if you wish to participate and we can send you the Zoom information! Stay connected with NSUMC over the summer! The community children are invited to a FREE Easter Sunday Bubble Blessings Event hosted on Sunday, April 17th from 10:00am to 11:00am to celebrate Easter Sunday (April 17th, 2022 @ 10AM) with us and receive BUBBLE BLESSINGS! We will have bubble stations set-up to experience bubbles as 3D shapes, snakes, giant bubbles and celebrate with the children as the bubbles they create sail to heaven!
We will begin at 10am in the sanctuary. Children will be excused to the NSUMC Fellowship Hall where they will hear a short scripture story of the resurrection. Then they will proceed to the playground to participate in a bubble extravaganza! As the celebration ends each child will receive a FREE Easter goodie bag filled with eggs and candy! And while we invite kids to this party on Easter Sunday, we also invite them to begin preparing for Easter throughout Holy Week. Check out the online lessons. In our Christian tradition, lilies represent purity, joy, and hope, with their trumpet-like blooms announcing Christ's resurrection. Flowering plants such as daffodils, tulips, and hyacinths symbolize resurrection, as they bring forth beautiful blooms from dead bulbs. All these flowers serve as a beautiful reminder that Easter is a time for rejoicing. You can help decorate our sanctuary with beautiful spring flowers on Easter Sunday with lilies and flowering plants.
If you would like to purchase a lily or flowering plant in memory or in honor of a loved one, we will have special envelopes available or you can donate online here from March 20th to April 10th. The cost is $15.00 per plant with one dedication per plant. Physical order forms are available at the church in the Narthex on the welcome desk. If you'd like to place your order online, you can do so here or by going to the Events section of the mobile app. North Scottsdale United Methodist Church is offering a camping event for all members of the congregation at our DSW Conference Camp (Mingus Camp near Prescott, AZ).
