Blue? Yes, blue as in the blues. As in "I am feeling blue." Not everyone is up and cheery for the Christmas holidays. Dealing with the death of a loved one, facing life after divorce or separation, coping with the loss of a job, living with cancer or some other disease that puts a question mark over the future, and a number of other human situations make parties and joviality painful for many people in our congregations and communities. This traditional-style service will feature a time to lift up the deepest concerns on our hearts, as well as preparing for the holiday season to come. Copies of "Blue Christmas: Devotions of Light in a Season of Darkness" will be freely available to anyone desiring a daily resource for the Advent season (while supplies last). While this service is rooted in the Christian tradition, all are welcome and encouraged to participate, regardless of religious affiliation. It is our hope that this might be a place of healing for all.
