The next UMW meeting will be on Sunday, November 14th after service in the Fellowship Hall. Lunch will be the club salad from Jason's Deli. Each member will need to make a reservation and pay $12 for their meal. Cindy can start collecting the money and taking the reservations this Sunday. You may also make a reservation and drop her a check in the mail if you prefer.
Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes must be returned no later then the meeting day. The boxes will all be dropped off the next morning. You can also bring them on any Sunday before or drop them off at the church office. If you would still like to sponsor a box they are $29 each. North Scottsdale United Methodist Church is hosting a LIVE NATIVITY DRIVE-THRU from 7:00-8:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 18th in the N.S.U.M.C. parking lot located at 11735 North Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85254. The event is free and open to the public.
N.S.U.M.C. would like to help holidays sparkle a little more for the children and the community by hosting a “Live Nativity Drive-Thru.” This event will provide an opportunity for our neighbors to enjoy a free and friendly Christmas Season experience. All families are invited to DRIVE-THRU the NSUMC parking lot beginning at 7:00pm. The passengers will be able to gaze on the festive holiday lights and a live nativity scenes. After driving past the lights and the nativity scenes, each vehicle will be given one Advent gift bag before the exiting the parking lot onto Jenan Road. NSUMC is offering free Advent gift bag to the first 100 vehicles. The live Nativity scene will include:
N.S.U.M.C. invites attending families to make an online donation toward the DIAPER DRIVE for AZ Helping Hands a foster care support program. Check out the N.S.U.M.C. website to make this donation. The community’s generosity is appreciated and encouraged, so together we can offer support to sweet young families in need! North Scottsdale United Methodist Church would be honored to share the love of the Christ Child with you and your family on Christmas Eve. Two Christmas Eve worship services will be offered on Friday, December 24th, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary.
Christmas Eve 5pm Young Family Service The children-friendly Christmas Eve service begins at 5:00 p.m. Christmas Eve 7pm Candle Light Service The 7:00 p.m. traditional service offers Christmas hymns, scripture and sermon. It features the NSUMC adult Chancel choir. This service will end with the darkening of the sanctuary and the lighting of candles by all attendees. North Scottsdale United Methodist Church is hosting its 23rd Annual Trunk or Treat from 4:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 31st in the N.S.U.M.C. parking lot located at 11735 North Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85254. The event is FREE and open to the public.
N.S.U.M.C. would like to make the holidays festive for the children in the community. This event will provide an opportunity for our neighbors to enjoy a FREE, COVID-safe and friendly trick or treating experience. All families are invited to DRIVE-THRU the NSUMC parking lot beginning at 4pm. The passengers will be able to catch sight of the festive holiday trunks and friendly costumes. After passing all of the trunks, each car load is invited to collect one over-sized goodie bag before the exit the parking lot onto Scottsdale Road. We will be celebrating All Saints Day at the 10:00am service on October 31st. Each year we have a special observance during the service in honor of those who have died in the last year. If you have a loved one that has gone to Glory since last November and would like them to be featured in the All Saints Day memorial, please send a picture and a sentence or two to stephen@nsumc.com by 10/17.
