![]() All are invited to join with us on October 6 at 10 a.m. on Zoom. The seven-week study will conclude November 17 with an in person class at the church, followed by lunch at Grayhawk. The book we have selected is Words of Life: Jesus and the Promise of the Ten Commandments Today. It is available in various formats and from Cokesbury, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon, to name a few resources. We will be taking turns as facilitators and different members have volunteered for these roles for this study. We hope you will joins us! This coming Sunday September 26th after 2nd service we will be having our Unit Meeting in the Fellowship Hall. UMW is providing lunch from Jason's Deli. We will be ordering boxed lunches. Please make a reservation with Cindy Bryant to order a lunch. We will be discussing Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes. Remember, if you would like to send a check for a box, it is $29 per box or you can pay that at the meeting. If you would like to make a box, we will have them available at our meeting. The shipping cost of $9 will need to be put in your box.
We are also hoping to collect our pledges for the year if you have not given that to us yet. Your pledge is to support women and children throughout the year locally, nationally and throughout the world. The amount you pledge is for you to decide. We will look at a video of where our money goes for UMW. The fall session of the Monday Night Bible Study group plans to start September 27th 6:00pm via Zoom. We will be utilizing Philip Yancey's "Vanishing Grace: Whatever Happened to the Good News" (96 pages). There are 5 sessions. Following that study, we will be utilizing Adam Hamilton's "Incarnation: Rediscovering the Significance of Christmas" (176 pages). There are 4 sessions.
We would love to add new members and everyone is welcome to attend some or all of our meetings. Plan now to be a part of these special sessions with DVD and guided discussions led by the Rev. North Scottsdale United Methodist Church is hosting its 23rd annual Trunk or Treat from 4:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 31st, 2021 in the N.S.U.M.C. parking lot located at 11735 North Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85254.
N.S.U.M.C. would like to make the holidays festive for the children in the community. This event will provide an opportunity for our neighbors to enjoy a free, COVID-safe and friendly trick or treating experience. All families are invited to DRIVE-THRU the NSUMC parking lot beginning at 4pm. The passengers will be able to catch sight of the festive holiday trunks and friendly costumes. After passing all of the trunks, each car load is invited to collect one over-sized goodie bag before the exit the parking lot onto Scottsdale Road. NSUMC is offering goodie bags to the first 200 vehicles. The basic Trunk or Treating guidelines include:
