NSUMC Foundation
“Your plenty will supply what they need . . . . You will be made rich . . . .so that you can be generous on every occasion.” (2 Cor. 8:14, 9:11)
What is the Foundation?
The NSUMC Foundation is an important part of financial stability for future ministry here at NSUMC. Our Foundation supports special projects outside of our church budget, including scholarships, capital and building needs, and missional opportunities to reach out to our community and world. Giving to God’s great causes gives us a sense of destiny and helps our church build a bridge to the future.

How Can I Contribute?
The NSUMC Foundation stands ready to receive your gifts — from your Estate, as a provision in your Will, or directly. As we invest these gifts, the proceeds will support the needs of the Church for generations to come.
The Foundation is able to receive:
Current Gifts
You should discuss any gift with your tax advisor, financial planner, or insurance agent as to potential tax consequences for your gift.

Current Gifts
- Cash: There is no easier way to support the work of your church and obtain a charitable deduction at the same time. Simply write a check made out to the NSUMC Foundation. It's just as easy as that!
- Securities: Giving long-term appreciated stocks or bonds potentially offers you a two-fold savings. You avoid capital gains on the increased value and you qualify for a tax deduction equal to the fair-market value of the security.
- Life Insurance can be gifted to the Foundation by naming it as both the owner and beneficiary of your policy. The Foundation can also be named as a contingent beneficiary if family members do not survive the insured.
- Life Income Gifts that provide you with immediate income tax deductions as well as lifetime income. The remainder of such gifts reverts to the Foundation upon your death. Examples include gift annuities, charitable lead trusts, charitable remainder trusts and more.
- Retirement Plan: Avoid taxation on retirement plan assets (such as IRA or 401K) by naming the Foundation as your beneficiary.
- Name the Foundation as a beneficiary in your will.
