 New Member Orientation 

We love to receive new members!  As a matter of fact, we think it’s one of the most important ways to share in the life and mission of Jesus Christ.  At NSUMC, we are delighted to welcome others to a journey of faithful discipleship.  In order to become a member of the church, visitors are invited to attend 2 New Member Orientation Sessions on Sunday mornings.   

New Member Orientations are  scheduled for the second and third Sundays of September, November, February, April (with the exception of Easter) and July.  They are held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on the Second Sunday of those months, and from 10:00 to 11:30 on the Third Sundays of those months.  Childcare is provided all morning. 

During these Sessions, we’ll be talking about the expectations of membership, what a United Methodist is, and about our spiritual gifts, as well as making preparations for being received into membership.

Ways to become a member:

Profession of Faith - for those new to church life.

Letter of Transfer - for those coming from another United Methodist Church or other denomination.

Affiliate - for seasonal visitors who wish to keep their base membership in a United Methodist church at home, but want to join this congregation while here.

Associate - for seasonal visitors who wish to keep their base membership at home with another denomination, but who wish to join this congregation while here.

Confirmation - for those age 12 and older who have completed our confirmation class
