UMW: United Methodist Women's Fellowship

The UMW group is for women of all ages and is a division of the General Board of Global Ministries. We meet frequently for a variety of events that cover a wide range of interests. Our purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship and to extend the concept of fellowship and mission through participation in local and global ministries.

Our Activities Include:

• Retreat: Three day fellowship weekend - usually during the Fall.
• Faith Circle / New Day Circle: This class meets on the second Thursday of each month, from October through May. We begin in the kitchen with a light lunch and then proceed to the library for study, the book for which is selected by the group.
• Student Care: Mentors keep in contact with our college students, especially those who have gone away to school. Sponsor "Graduation Sunday" for all graduates.
• Third Grade Bibles: We purchase and distribute Bibles to the new third graders of the church the first Sunday after Labor Day.
• Women's Fellowship Sunday: We design and lead the services on Annual Conference Sunday in June.
• Craft Day: Favorite craft projects such as scrapbooking, stitchery, stamping, etc. are shared with each other. Also host/participate in a Holiday Boutique.
• Dinner Out: Locations are chosen that will allow us to get out and pay with ease while reserving the most time to eat and visit with friends.
• Tin of Sin: One of our favorite Holiday programs. We each bring our favorite baked goods in an interesting container and exchange with one another.
• Annual Rummage Sale: Supports many missions and programs for our church family and community.
• Outreach Fellowship: Providing meals to our members who are ill or injured.
• Other programs include: Welcome Back Tea/Luncheon, Ornament Exchange, Hiking, Easter Egg Hunt, Bunko, Mother's Day Event, Movie Group and much more.
